Scent of the Day: Wonderwood By Comme des Garcons Review

Wonderwood by Comme des Garcons Fragrance Review.

Wonderwood is down-to-earth with its woody and slightly sweet aroma. It is intoxicating, pleasant, warm, and comforting on the right skin. If you are expecting a loud fragrance like some others from the Comme des Garcons line, look elsewhere because this is subtle, earthy, calm, and soft. This fragrance thrives in winter and fall and is very long lasting with a nice, but not overbearing sillage as well. Comme des Garcons aimed this fragrance towards men, though, as a woman myself I have found that I could quite possibly be captured by this fragrance. It may depend on the skin which wears this fragrance, though, I am drawn to its subtle sweetness. I have also smelled this on the most masculine of men and it seems to paint a completely different picture in my head, as I do see it as a masculine fragrance when worn by a male. They do say that men and woman, or different skin types in general may carry a different scent along with fragrances, so this is a perfect example of that in action.

The wood is freshly cut and is not mimicked, but captured in its true state. The vetiver is slightly sharp and keeps Wonderwood smelling earthy and green. The woody combination of cedar, sandalwood, and cypress make for a sweet and subtle aroma, filled with creamy desire. The incense and pepper bring forth the gentle spices and smokiness of the fragrance and oud plays a part, lying softly in the background. Wonderwood is a perfect woodsy scent and depicts a beautiful autumn evening among the woods and green forestry.

Notes include: cedar, sandalwood, vetiver, oud, cypress, guaiac wood, pepper, incense, cashmere wood, patchouli, nutmeg, bergamot, caraway
